From the start, LSD set out to produce music and art that was real and true to their hearts. Eschewing the contrivances of so many contemporary artists and labels, founding members Darren Roberts and Leah Moore thought long and hard about what their music would represent and how it would impact the artists and supporters around them.  The goal was to capture the spirit of artists working together with passion that went beyond egos.  Hence, on a hazy night in 1996, Last Soul Descendents was born with the idea that collaborators and co-conspirators who possess this same rare and valuable quality are among the “last souls” who value their craft above all else.  

Though classified as electronic music (down-tempo, trip hop and dub), LSD is heavily influenced by artists like Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Prince, George Clinton and the P Funk All-stars, Zapp, Burning Spear, Sly and Robbie, Bjork, Portishead, Lamb, and Morcheeba. These influences are prevalent and on full display throughout the duo’s music in the form of groovy baselines, trippy guitar riffs and Leah Moore’s haunting, ethereal vocal delivery.  

The band has been recognized locally and across the web, and the music has been featured on the soundtrack for JEL Productions’ film Exposure, and the cable television show Rent Wars.

In 2004, LSD remixed the track Suck In Love (Exhale Remix) from Saru’s Downtempo Dojo album on Shadow Records. In return, Saru remixed Something About You (Step To It Remix) from the 2004 Last Soul Descendents’ compilation, Space City Grooves. 

In subsequent years, special events, featured appearances, festival appearances, and numerous awards have contributed to more exposure and a growing fan base for Last Soul Descendents.
